Opposition parties complain about snatching of lands

Mr Jagan alleged that the TD government collected 33,000 acres of lands forcefully violating the laws.

Vijayawada: The Opposition parties YSR Congress, BJP , CPI and CPM submitted me-morandums to the 15th finance commission chairman N.K. Singh against the ruling Telugu Desam government about snat-ching of fertile lands and sought allocation of funds to the residuary AP state.

CPM state secretary P. Madhu alleged that the TD government snatched thousands of fertile lands on the name of new capital Amaravati construction under Land Pooling Scheme which is against law. He alleged that the government forcefully collected lands without the concern of locals bodies in the APCRDA region violating norms.

YSR Congress MLC Ummareddy Venkateswarlu submitted the letter of YSRC president and Opposition leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to the Commission. Mr Jagan alleged that the TD government collected 33,000 acres of lands forcefully violating the laws.

Mentioning about the administration of AP government in the temporary buildings and lagging of AP in development, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy sought Special Category Status to AP which he said has become a sentiment to the Andhra public.

He appealed to the Co-mmission to recommend to the Union government to sanction SCS to AP.

BJP state official spoke-sperson Sudheesh Ramb-hotla claimed that the Union government had sanctioned huge funds for the development of AP but the TD government was diverting those funds to the TD schemes. He alleged that the TD government snatched three crops cultivating fertile lands in the name of new capital Amaravati construction.

CPI executive committee member PJ Chandrasekhar Rao, TD MP Kesineni Srinivas,

MLA T Sravan Kumar, MLC K Narasimha Reddy, AP State planning commission vice president Ch Kutumba Rao and others submitted memorandums to the commission on the occasion.
