Harish: KCR treats IT and agriculture equally

HYDERABAD: Finance minister T. Harish Rao contended that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao had elevated the IT sector in Hyderabad and agriculture in villages to lofty levels, though the recently-arrested former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu used to talk of developing the sector.

"When Naidu was the Chief Minister, he only talked about IT but Chandrashekar Rao has made Telangana the number one in IT products and the state has a 10-lakh IT workforce. We are providing all facilities in villages as are available in Hyderabad. Telangana provides 24-hour electricity without any cuts while Prime Minister's home state Gujarat is found wanting in this regard.”

Speaking after inaugurating the Sri Ranganayaka Swamy Pharmacy College at Ramancha in Chinnakodur mandal of Siddipet, Harish Rao said that it was greatly rewarding that the institution had come up in Siddipet after securing approvals within eight months.

"Siddipet is a hub for educational institutions as it caters to medical, agriculture, veterinary, pharmacy nursing, and all other professional courses. The Chief Minister gives similar priority to all districts in Telangana," he said.
The minister stated that Telangana topped in grain production and in producing doctors and boasted of 22 MBBS seats per one lakh population.
