Five cents land given to slain Ramya's family

Sucharita said that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has also directed officials to provide a job to Ramya's sister

VIJAYAWADA: The state government has given five cents of agricultural land to the family of engineering student Nallapu Ramya, who was killed by a stalker. Home minister Mekathoti Sucharita, along with MLAs Md. Mustafa, Meruga Nagarjuna and Maddali Giridhar and district collector Vivek Yadav presented the land allotment papers to the parents in their house at Paramayyakunta in Guntur on Saturday.

Sucharita said that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has also directed officials to provide a job to Ramya’s sister.

Sucharita said that the August 15 attack, in which Ramya was killed, was sad and unfortunate. She said that the Chief Minister had responded immediately to the gruesome murder and directed them to provide relief to the family. She said that the family sought a house-site, five cents of land and job to Ramya'a sister, which were all approved by Reddy.

The minister said that Ramya’s parents had sought justice through a fast track-court and it would be ensured. She stated that Reddy had directed authorities to provide a job to Ramya’s sister instantly and not wait for her to complete her degree.

Nagarjuna refuted allegations of opposition parties and stated that the police had acted swiftly in the murder incident and had arrested the culprit within hours.
