Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh government is getting ready for the launch of Village Secretariats on October 2 with the concerted efforts of various departments which will be the largest recruitment in public employment that would provide jobs to over 4 lakh people in the state.

Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy during a review meeting of Village Secretariats here on Wednesday enquired about the progress of various works and congratulated the officials for successfully completing the competitive exams for Village Secretaries.

The officials said that special training is being given to those who work in the call centres that would be used by Village Volunteers and Village Secretaries. While 1902 is the call centre number for registering complaints and grievances, there should also be a dedicated number locally to respond for emergencies, the Chief Minister said.

The results of Villages Secretaries will be ready by this month-end.

The CM has examined the job chart of Village Volunteers and Village Secretaries and said that the infrastructure, including buildings, furniture fixtures, hardware and other equipment should be ready by the deadline and suggested that all buildings should be identical.

The Village Secretariats would provide 237 services to the citizens from various Departments of which 115 services will be cleared within 72 hours and remaining 122 in more than 72 hours.
