Palaniswami, OPS, Stalin welcome SC verdict on equal property rights for daughters

Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswamy, Deputy Chief Minister O Pannerselvam and Leader of the Opposition M K Stalin welcomed the Supreme Court order bestowing equal rights to women in inheriting family property.
Expressing happiness over the verdict, Palanisamy said the APex Court had upheld social justice in the country.
The judgment would pave the way for women’s development, tweeted Pannerselvam, welcoming it wholeheartedly.
Stalin said that he would consider it as a victory for DMK’s principles as former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi had brought in a law providing equal rights for women in property way back in 1989 itself.
The judgment would lay the foundation for women standing up acquiring both social and economic equal rights.
