Jagan keen on YSRC rejuvenation in Kadapa before polls

ANANTAPUR: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy concentrated heavily on party matters during his three-day visit to Kadapa, in view of the recent MLC poll results from Rayalaseema and in particular the win of TD candidate Ramgopal Reddy who hails from Pulivendula Assembly segment

Jagan Mohan Reddy, who launched or inaugurated several projects and laid foundation stones for developmental activities in Kadapa district, advised the local leaders to dedicate themselves more to strengthening the party before the general polls.

TD candidate Ramgopal Reddy won from the graduate constituency of Rayalaseema during the recent MLC polls. The TD candidate reportedly won votes even from the YSRC strongholds of the Kadapa district.

Sources said Jagan Mohan Reddy interacted with the municipal councillors of Pulivendula during the inauguration of the new building and advised them to solve the problems of the people in earnest.

The Chief Minister, who had a meeting with party leaders and representatives of Kadapa at the Degree College Ground, also cautioned several leaders against their role in illicit activities, mostly relating to the real estate trade and land-grab issues in Kadapa.

Jagan Mohan Reddy mentioned the recent issues of abductions and murders pertaining to real estate disputes and gave clear instructions to the party leaders to avoid giving a bad image to the party.

Kadapa MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy was in charge of Pulivendula and looking after the CM’s temporary camp office there to solve public grievances. But, he has been fixed in the Vivekananda Reddy murder case and has been regularly travelling to Hyderabad, also as his father Bhaskar Reddy was in judicial remand in the same case.

Party sources said the Chief Minister directed the YSRC leaders and municipal councillors to concentrate more on strengthening the party without giving a chance for the opposition TD to spread its influence in the district.
