KARIMNAGAR: Chinnapur BRS sarpanch Dumma Lathasri resigned from her post after alleging that the state government was not paying the bills for developmental works that were taken up in the village in Buggaram mandal of Jagtial district on Tuesday.
After submitting the resignation letter, Lathasri said she had paid for the developmental works by borrowing Rs 7 lakh and was paying interest on the loan. “For the past one year, I have been going round the offices but the officials are not releasing the bills for the works which have been completed,” she alleged.
Besides, the officials were exerting pressure on her to complete more works and linked sanctioning of bills with it.
Lathasri said that she would continue in the BRS.
