Forest officials say that there was no sign of podu cultivation at Koyaposhaguda

Mancherial DFO Shivani Dogra said the Koyaposhaguda villagers have started grabbing the forest land from the Kawal Tiger Reserve

ADILABAD: The Mancherial top forest officials on Monday said there was no podu land cultivation at Koyaposhagudem as per the records of the forest and revenue departments. “There was no sign of cultivation of podu lands in the past,” they asserted.

Mancherial DFO Shivani Dogra said the Koyaposhaguda villagers have started grabbing the forest land from the Kawal Tiger Reserve and said the villagers were doing this at the instigation of some others.

Forest officials held a press conference on the Koyaposhaguda incident on Monday, though the issue was simmering for the last two months. Jannaram DFO Madhava Rao was also present.
