Hyderabad: The state government has decided to utilise the Burgula Ramakrishna Rao Bhavan at Tank Bund as a temporary Secretariat till completion of the construction of the new Secretariat complex.
Although senior officers were previously considering shifting the departments to number buildings, they have now decided to shift all the main wings including the CMO, general administration department, finance, and other key departments to BRKR Bhavan.
In view of the traffic congestion and security problems, the police authorities, including the security, traffic, and fire safety authorities, have inspected the building premises and its surroundings and have decided to recommend that the government should declare BRKR Bhavan and its surroundings as a high-security zone.
To mitigate the parking concern, which stems from the shortage of parking space in BRKR Bhavan premises, the police authorities suggest that officials use the open space in the new MLA quarters.
