What about BJP's Mission 150, asks Siddaramaiah, ridicules B S Yedyyurappa

Kalaburagi: It was a different Siddaramaiah Congressmen attending a rally in Kalaburagi on Tuesday witnessed. He demonstrated that he can be satirical and make the Opposition squirm.

At the divisional level meeting of Congress leaders from Hyderabad-Karnataka, Siddaramaiah proved that he can match late film actor Dhirendra Gopal, who was famous for his satirical dailogues. What added colour to his speech was his conclusion of every topic with the comment, "Yeddyurappa are you not ashamed of this?".

Referring to ‘Mission 150’ of the BJP to win 150 seats in the assembly, he remarked that Yeddyurappa as well as Udupi MP Shobha Karandlaje's plans have become "tussoo" (a damb squib) after the remarkable performance of his party in the Gundlupet and Nanjangud by-elections and the farm loan waiver scheme. "Further the huge turnout of people at the Congress rally at Kudalasangama has shattered them", the CM said.

Touching on the issue of Yeddyurappa having breakfast with Dalits at the latter's place, Mr Siddaramaiah sarcastically asked him if he should not be ashamed of eating idlis and dosas brought from hotels? “Dalits can see through his drama. That's why I advised him that if he wants to be a true follower of Basavanna, he should get a girl from his family tie the knot with a Dalit boy. If at Dalits are empowered today, the credit goes to the Congress. On the contrary which was the party which opposed the Mandal Commission? And wasn’t it Justice Rama Jois (BJP leader) who challenged reservation in the top court? Are you not ashamed of paying lip service to Dalits now?", he asked.
