BS Yeddyurappa loyalist in KS Eshwarappa aide's abduction bid?
Bengaluru: In a twist to the futile kidnapping attempt on Vinay Bidare, the personal assistant of BJP leader K.S. Eshwarappa on May 10, the arrested accused have reportedly named a close aide of BJP state chief B.S. Yeddyurappa to be behind the plot.
The Mahalakshmi Layout police had arrested six accused in connection with the kidnapping bid. During the interrogation, they reportedly told the police that Rajendra Urs, who is also a BJP Yuva Morcha leader, had planned Vinay’s kidnapping.
The police had summoned Urs for questioning four days ago, but he went underground only to appear before the police on Tuesday with an anticipatory bail. A senior police officer said that the investigations have revealed the role of Urs, but they were trying to ascertain the motive. On May 10, as Vinay was travelling on his bike near Mahalakshmi Layout, the accused in a car crashed into his two-wheeler. When Vinay got down from the bike, two men on a bike tried to push him into a car, in a bid to kidnap him. But Bidare managed to escape.
While six accused including Kishore, Abhishek, Selva and Ayyappa were arrested by the police, another accused, Prashanth, who was arrested recently by the HAL police, escaped from police custody.
