Bhatti, Komatireddy sure Congress will trump BRS

HYDERABAD: Training his guns on Telangana Legislative Council chairman Gutta Sukhender Reddy and minister and in-charge of Nalgonda district G. Jagadish Reddy, CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said they are not bothered about giving water to the people of Nalgonda. Their only obsession is amassing wealth and acquiring farm houses for themselves.

Addressing the public in Devarakonda, after unveiling a pylon to mark 1,000 km of his padayatra, on Sunday, he said, “The Srisailam Left Bank Canal project could have been completed by spending just Rs 1,000 crore. Even that was not done in the last nine years.”

He said a minister should be like Congress MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, who had visited the project site a day after taking charge, and ensured completion of 70 per cent of the project.

“If the Congress had come to power, the project would have been completed by 2017 along with the Dindi lift irrigation project. This could have facilitated irrigation of lakhs of acres of land,” Bhatti said.

Continuing, the CLP leader said, “While K. Chandrashekar Rao, who was voted to power by the Backward Classes, has left them with goats and buffaloes, we gave them power in Karnataka and Rajasthan by making Siddaramaiah and Ashok Gehlot CMs. The Backward Classes constitute 50 per cent of the population in the state but get only six per cent of budgetary allocations.”

He said that given the enthusiasm of the cadre in Nalgonda, the Congress looked set to win 12 seats in the district and romp to power in the state.

Commending Bhatti, Bhuvanagiri MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said, “Bhatti has questioned KCR even as he bought MLAs like sheep. The people of Nalgonda will stand by the CLP leader. This yatra will bring down the corrupt government.”

He said they were planning a meeting with senior leader Priyanka Gandhi in Nalgonda.

Venkat Reddy said, “In 2005 I ensured that Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy agreed to the SLBC tunnel project and completed 60 to 70 per cent of the work. But the project has been languishing. It was the Congress which completed Nagarjunasagar and Srisailam dams and constructed countless colonies of Indiramma houses. Minister Jagadish Reddy has constructed a house on five acres while we still live in rented houses.”
