Bandi Sanjay has guts to bring change: Javadekar

KARIMNAGAR: National BJP leader and Rajya Sabha member Prakash Javadekar on Monday praised state BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar for strengthening the party from the grassroots and said that he “has guts to bring change to the Telangana state”.

Likening him to the Union surface transport minister, Javadekar said: “How Nithin Gadkari will not leave any work in half way stage, Sanjay Kumar is also like that.”
Javadekar was speaking at a Mahajan Sampark Abhiyan outreach meeting after inspecting the Elkathurthy and Siddipet national highway road-widening works at Koheda mandal of Husnabad constituency in Karimnagar district.

Javadekar said that in its nine years at the Centre, the BJP government has allocated Rs. 1.9 lakh crores for laying roads across Telangana state. “With the completion of Elkathurthy and Siddipet national highway road widening works, along with Siddipet, Husnabad, Mulkanur and Elkathurthy the people of around 14 villages are going to benefit,” he said.

Amid the visits by the BJP contingent to prominent places in Karimnagar, a video was widely circulated on social media showing Javadekar entering the famous Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple with his footwear. Deccan Chronicle could not independently verify the veracity of the video.

Refuting the allegations, Sanjay Kumar leapt to Javadekar’s defence. “Javadekar, who is 73 years old, strongly believes in God and is not such a person (fool) who will enter a temple wearing shoes. Leaving the shoes outside the temple, he entered the temple with socks. I was with him the whole time and I noticed it,” he said.

“But some foolish people who do not know the difference between socks and shoes are making bad propaganda that Javadekar entered the temple with shoes. Before spreading false news, they must inquire about it with Vemulawada temple priests,” he said.

Sanjay Kumar said that he tried to protect Javadekar from falling as he
slipped while walking in the temple.

Priests at the Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple also condemned the false
propaganda and cleared that Javadekar had not entered the temple with shoes.
