Telangana government recognises all pre-2014 era unions

The leaders of recognised unions get on-duty facility even though they engage in union activities.

Hyderabad: The Telangana government on Monday recognised all government employees unions, which were recognised by the government of undivided AP.

The recognition comes after employees unions protested over a circular issued by the TS government last week stating that none of the government employees unions had the government recognition.

The leaders of recognised unions get on-duty facility even though they engage in union activities. Besides, they are also exempted from transfers.

After five years, the TS government recently lifted a ban on general transfer of employees and transferring all employees who completed five years of service in existing locations.

With no government recognition all these days, the union leaders feared their transfers. After they took up the matter with Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday, he directed officials to issue clarification.

Accordingly, chief secretary S.K. Joshi issued a circular granting recognition to the unions.
