Pawan Kalyan backs CPM stir on dharnas
Hyderabad: Jana Sena chief and actor Pawan Kalyan on Thursday made it clear to CPM leader Tammineni Veerabhadram that he will think of alliances with like-minded parties only once his party’s organisational set up is completed.
He said he would work with all parties on all people-centric issues, including the Chalo Indira Park rally on May 15, which is demanding the revival of Dharna Chowk.
Mr Veerabhadram met Mr Pawan Kalyan and conveyed his party’s policy of involving all like-minded persons and parties to agitate against the state government, which is bent on suppressing human rights and agitations with an iron hand.
He said it was essential to build a common front or alliance of like-minded parties to be the political alternative to the TRS in the state.
Mr Kalyan said he was busy setting up various organisational committees and once that is completed, he will think of forming fronts.
Speaking to newspersons later, Mr Kalyan clarified his earlier comments on discrimination shown to south Indian cadre officials in appointments for key posts like executive officer of the TTD.
He said he was worried that officials from south India are not considered for such appointments in North India.
“I am not against officials of that region or this region, but against discrimination being shown,” he clarified.
