Poll Bytes: BJP satisfies some aspirants, others protest
Bengaluru: State BJP president B S Yeddyurappa took the initiative to nip trouble in the bud over distribution of tickets for Assembly polls on May 12, calling some of the unsuccessful aspirants to pacify them, on Wednesday.
As many as eight aspirants, Revu Naik Belamagi, Appu Pattanashetty, Jagadish Metagudda, N.R. Ramesh, Somanna Bevinamarada, Tippe Swamy, G.H. Ramachandra and Mangaladevi Biradar are upset with party leadership for being denied party tickets.
Sources in the party said that Mr Ramesh was called and pacified and similarly, Mr Pattanashetty was also pacified by Mr Yeddyurappa. Mr Bevinamarad, close to senior leader K S Eshwarappa, was consoled by the latter.
In Molkalmuru, supporters of Mr Tippe Swamy took to streets to express their displeasure over fielding former minister B. Sreeramulu in Molkalmuru. They blocked traffic on the highway on Wednesday and demanded the party to withdraw its decision. However, party sources said Mr Thippe Swamy was no match to Mr Sreeramulu. Mr Thippeswamy, however, would be placated later, sources added.
