Yediyurappa calls upon Kannadigas to give absolute majority to the BJP
Mangaluru: Urging the people to ensure BJP's victory with more than 140 seats in the forthcoming Assembly election, former chief minister of Karnataka BS Yediyurappa asserted that the BJP government at the Centre and in the state have implemented programmes without any discrimination against particular community.
He was speaking at the Vijaya Sankalpa Yatra at Lingasugur in Raichur district on Saturday.
Yediyurappa highlighted the BJP's stance on religious equality.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi and I have always treated Hindus and Muslims equally. BJP believes that Hindus and Muslims should live like children of the same mother," he said.
Yediyurappa highlighted the Bhagya Lakshmi scheme and emphasized that it had not discriminated against any community.
"Under the Bhagya Lakshmi scheme, Muslim girls are receiving about 80 per cent benefit of the scheme," he said.
The former Chief Minister also mentioned the government's efforts to ensure that all programmes reach every household, stating that there is no house that has not benefited from the programmes of the Modi and Bommai governments.
"We have made all efforts to ensure that every house benefits from the programmes introduced by us," he said and urged party workers to visit every household and inform people about the BJP's programmes and ensure the party's victory in the upcoming elections.
During his speech, Yediyurappa also mentioned that the government would provide Rs 1,000 per month to each woman farmer in the state and Rs 10,000 assistance for seeds during the monsoon. He said that this would benefit approximately 67 lakh farmers in the state. For the first time, farmers are also provided with insurance, with the government paying the insurance premium of Rs 180 crore on their behalf.
Yediyurappa also said that 50,000 families of Lambani, Gollarahatti, and Kurubarihatti had already been provided title deeds of their land sites. An additional 50,000 families from 12 districts would receive the same during a programme at Davanagere next week.
Yediyurappa accused the Congress of using money and muscle power to form the government in Karnataka. He exuded confidence that the Kannadigas would support the BJP, given the government's efforts towards development.
