Vijayawada: Popular Tollywood comedian Ali and AP water resources minister Devineni Uma Maheswar Rao’s brother Devineni Chandrasekhar joined the YSRC in the presence of party chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday.
Mr Ali said he would campaign for YSRC to ensure that Mr Reddy becomes Chief Minister. The people of AP were looking for Mr Reddy’s leadership he said.
Mr Chandrasekhar met Mr Reddy at his Lotus Pond residence in Hyderabad and was welcomed into the party. “Due to several reasons, I have changed my party,” he said. He claimed there was exploitation in the TD, and that there was exessive extortion in the Pattiseema irrigation project.
YSRC Mylavaram party incharge Vasantha Krishna Prasad, who accompanied Mr Chandrasekhar, likened it to Vibhishana breaking free from the Lanka king Ravana in the Ramayana.
