Tamil Nadu too will soon see BJP rule, says Pon Radhakrishnan

Working towards non-Kazhagam rule in state, says min.

Chennai: The BJP’s spectacular win in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand signifies people’s clear mandate for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s development initiatives and the saffron party’s winning streak will continue in Tamil Nadu too, said Union minister of state for road transport, highways and whipping Pon Radhakrishnan.

“The BJP’s stunning performance in the northern states will reflect in Tamil Nadu too. The party's winning streak will be repeated in the local bodies elections and in the coming Assembly and Parliament elections,” Mr Radhakrishnan said. Speaking to this correspondent on Saturday, he said, “People voted the BJP for development. No other PM in India has taken development on fast track mode as our Modiji did.”

“The next Assembly election will see non-DMK and non-AIADMK, party emerge to the fore to rule the state and our BJP is working in that direction. Tamil Nadu will see BJP rule and not Kazhagam rule in future,” Radhakrishnan added.

“The BJP’s victory in the biggest state in India shows that the people have rejected the religious and caste outfits by giving a clear mandate to Modi's development,” BJP national secretary H. Raja said.

The party has won in Uttar Pradesh after 15 years. “We have won 80 per cent seats in UP and Uttarakhand. Those parties that played the religion and caste cards were rejected by the people. In Manipur, our party has for the first time emerged to the first place from zero. In Punjab, we are emerging as major Opposition and we will form the government in Goa,” he said.
