No setback for DMK, says M K Stalin
Chennai: DMK treasurer M. K. Stalin on Friday said DMDK’s refusal to join the DMK-led alliance would not affect his party’s poll prospects.
Talking to the media, he said DMK leader M. Karunanidhi had invited Vijayakanth with goodwill. “Accepting that invitation or not is their prerogative and we cannot interfere in their rights”, Stalin said. He also issued a statement alleging that the AIADMK rule had taken the state to “the first place in corruption” in the country.
Citing a study report of National Council of Applied Economic Research, Stalin said any new industry could be set up in Tamil Nadu “only after paying commissions”. This situation has badly hit the industrial development of the state.
Stalin said Tamil Nadu is lagging behind in all the parameters needed for industrial development. He added this “is not the first such report stating that Tamil Nadu lags behind in industrial development”.
