Kakinada: The election for the MLC under the Teachers’ Constituency for East and West Godavari Districts will be held on March 14, according to a schedule announced by the Election Commission on Thursday.
The election notification will be issued on February 16 and the last date of filing nominations is February 23. The scrutiny of nominations will be conducted on February 24 and the last date for withdrawal of candidature is February 29.
District collector D. Muralidhar Reddy said the polling will be conducted on March 14 from 8 am to 4 pm and the counting would be held on March 17 and the election process will be completed on March 22.
According to the final electoral rolls for the East and West Godavari constituencies, there are 17,285 voters — 9,560 voters in East Godavari district and 7,725 voters in West Godavari district.
Muralidhar Reddy said there are 5,953 male voters and 3,607 female voters in East Godavari district and 4,693 male voters and 3,032 female voters in West Godavari district.
He said 67 polling centres will be set up in East Godavari district and 49 in West Godavari.
