Telangana: Bandi woos SC voters with promise of resolving classification

Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Thursday said that the BJP, once it came to power in Telangana, would resolve the long-pending issue of Scheduled Castes’ classification.

He was addressing a public meeting in Kollapur to mark the end of a padayatra in the constituency by Nagarkurnool district BJP president A. Sudhakar Rao.

Sanjay demanded that the BRS government and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao return, along with interest, the central funds given to gram panchayats and diverted by the state government.

He said, “After having used by central funds sent to gram panchayats for the past eight years, the Chief Minister today said he will give Rs 10 lakh per gram panchayat. Sarpanchs and ward members will not forgive KCR until he repays the stolen central funds with interest to the gram panchayats.”

Sanjay said that a large number of people in Kollapur were waiting for the promised two-bedroom houses but none have been given one so far. “Across the country, the Narendra Modi government is building 3.5 crore houses for the poor. The centre released funds for 2.4 lakh houses in Telangana but the Chief Minister has not given them to the poor in the state,” Sanjay said.

He said that the Chief Minister’s claim that Telangana lost out on Rs 3 lakh crore on account of mismanagement by the Centre was a lie. “It is KCR and his government that mismanaged finances and brought the state to a situation where the government is no longer able to pay salaries to staff on time,” he said.
