Decision on VS Achuthanandan binding on all: Kodiyeri Balakrishnan
Thiruvananthapuram: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on Wednesday said that controversies related to veteran leader V.S. Achuthanandan were a thing of the past and the party was moving forward unitedly.
Speaking to reporters at the end of two day CPM state committee meeting here, Mr Balakrishnan said the central committee decision to make Achuthanandan invitee to the state committee was binding on all members. All party members will accept the decision.
He said Achuthanandan is the most respectable leader of the party who has been active in political sphere since freedom movement. Considering his contribution, the veteran was inducted as a special invitee to the central committee. As CC invitee Achuthanandan was regularly taking part in state committee meetings. As invitee to central committee he was airing his views in that forum as well.
Mr Balakrishnan said during the recent CC meet Achuthanandan had asked about the appropriate forum to express his views. The central committee meeting made it clear that the veteran could speak on any issue related to Kerala in the state committee. Hence from now on his forum was the state committee.
When asked whether the veteran leader would not be able to air his views outside the forum ? “Even I am not allowed to speak outside the forum. All comrades have to express views their views in committees,” Mr Balakrishnan said.
The CPM state secretary said the people of the state would not allow Sangh parivar to create a Kalburghi in Kerala. Those who publicly humiliated jnaanpeeth award winner M.T. Vasudevan Nair were now branding noted director Kamal anti national. They are trying to silence people who are speaking against the Sangh Parivar's divisive agenda in many other states . They are trying to resort to similar gag in Kerala as well.
Meanwhile the state committee decided to hold a mock public trial of Prime Mniser Narendera Modi for heaping miseries on the people in the name of demonetization. The public trial protest action will be held in all district headquarters on January 25. The demonetization decision was to help corporate Kodiyeri said and added that the decision had adversely affected the economy.
The CPM state committee decided to have peoples collective in 2000 centers in February to protest against the Centre's anti people ration policy. He asked the Centre to not only restore the rice quota but also enhance it as per the demands of the state.
