Karnataka CM calls for technological upgradation of police force

BENGALURU: The state police must not be left out in adoption of new technology and a lot of reforms must take place, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Sunday stating that a rise in technology based crimes in the State. He assured necessary grants in the next budget for technological upgradation to increase expertise in tackling cyber crimes.

At a function to felicitate President’s Medal Winners-2022, Bommai said the police department has been modernised including Forensic Science laboratories. Two Forensic Science labs have been set-up in Hubbali and Ballari districts and said that at least two Forensic Science labs are required in every region to help police in early detection of crimes.

Bommai expressed satisfaction over training imparted to top care police officers and also to the low cadre policemen but training to middle level police officials needs to be imparted in an effective way. He stressed that a separate training, syllabus and courses to improve the efficiency of the middle level police officers.
