JAC, Congress sadak bandh on November 18

Bhatti told reporters that it has been decided to hold dharnas opposite the houses of ministers and ruling party MLAs on Monday.

HYDERABAD: The Joint Action Committee of various staff unions of the TSRTC and the Congress Core Committee on Sunday called for a ‘sadak bandh’ on November 18 as a part of their ongoing strike.

Congress leaders Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, K. Jana Reddy, V. Hanuman-tha Rao, Ponnam Pra-bhakar, Sampath Kumar, Vamshichand Reddy, Vinod Reddy and Kusum Kumar participated in the meeting of Joint Action Committee, which met to hold discussions on intensification of their strike.

After the meeting, Mr Bhatti told reporters that it has been decided to hold dharnas opposite the houses of ministers and ruling party MLAs on Monday. RTC JAC convener E. Ashwathama Reddy and other leaders will hold hunger strikes in front of RTC depots across the state on Tuesday.

The Congress Legislature Party leader condemned the house arrest of opposition party leaders to prevent them from attending the Million March. He said the Congress has constituted a committee with AICC secretary Sampath and Mr Vamshichand Reddy to look into the attacks on women during the Million March and register complaints with the National Human Rights Commission and National Women’s Commission.
