YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to start padayatra on November 2 from Kadapa
ANANTAPUR: YSR Congress chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy will kick-start his padayatra on November 2 from Idupulapaya in Kadapa district and round it off at Ichchapuram on the north-eastern tip of the state. The padayatra would cover over 3,000 km in six months.
Announcing the schedule at the 10th Yuva Bheri programme held here on Tuesday, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy said, “My padayatra will begin from Idupulapaya and the course would run from Chittoor to Ichchapuram, covering the entire state. The padayatra will continue for six months and cover about 3,000 km to meet people from all parts.”
He further added the padayatra is aimed at highlighting the failures of the Chandrababu Naidu government During the Yuva Bheri programme, which is aiming at highlighting the importance of Special Category Status (SCS) of the state, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy interacted with students from various institutions.
Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy stressed need for an unrelenting fight to get a special status for Andhra Pradesh as the Chief Minister failed in all aspects to mount pressure on the Centre to accord the status. Mr Reddy said the fight for special status will not end until it is achieved. He assured that the YSRC will address students’ issues on a priority basis.
