Chennai: The DMK will begin the process of selection of candidates for the local body elections from September 12 with a review of the party and election works carried out by the area and taluk secretaries in the city.
DMK general secretary K. Anbazhagan in a statement here, said the review had been ordered by party chief M. Karunanidhi in connection with the local body elections.
The process would be started for the area and taluk secretaries in Chennai and they should submit the details of party programmes, birthday functions of Karunanidhi, activists meeting, public meetings held in their area, besides their election works should be submitted to the party headquarters.
Orginals and copies of the minutes book for those functions and works should be brought for verification to the party headquarters and showed to the organising secretary whose signatures should be obtained, the party statement said.
The review would take place on September 12, 13, 14 and 16, it added.
