Revanth\'s remark against CM gets TRS leaders heated up
HYDERABAD: Ministers, Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) MLAs, MLCs and leaders lashed out at TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy for his 'unsavoury comments' on Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao while addressing the Dalit Girijina Dandora at Indervelli in Adilabad district on Monday.
They addressed separate press conferences at Telangana Bhavan here on Tuesday and strongly condemned the remarks made by Revanth on the Chief Minister. They said Revanth, who was on bail in the ‘cash-for-vote’ case, would land in jail again at any time. They alleged that Revanth Reddy was indulging in a personal attack on Chandrashekar Rao due to his frustration over the Dalit Bandhu scheme with a fear that Dalits would sail with the TRS forever once the Chief Minister started extending Rs 10 lakh aid to each Dalit family from August 16.
Endowments minister Allola Indrakaran Reddy said, "Revanth boasted that he will send Chandrashekar Rao to jail. Revanth himself doesn't know when he will land in jail in the cash-for-vote case. The ACB investigation into this case has now reached the final stage. Revanth can't escape jail term in this case as he was caught red-handed on camera."
Indrakaran warned Revanth that he would cut the latter’s tongue if he indulged in personal attacks on the Chief Minister or his family members without any pieces of evidence.
Roads and buildings minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy said Revanth would soon get the recognition of being the only TPCC president who went to jail while holding the top post in Telangana Congress.
"Revanth should realise that the Indravelli firing incident took place when the Congress was in power in undivided AP as well as in the Centre in 1981. He should also realise that the then Congress government at the Centre led by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi merged Lambadas in the list of STs through GO 148 in 1976. Consequently, the aboriginal communities have been robbed of education and employment opportunities. The Congress has no moral right even to step in Indervelli, let alone hold public meetings," Prashant Reddy said.
MLAs A. Jeevan Reddy and N. Bhaskar Rao termed Revanth Reddy as a “brand ambassador for blackmail politics.”
"People are laughing at Revanth's statement that he will send KCR to jail soon.
Revanth himself was Khaidi No. 1779 in Chanchalguda jail and Khaidi No. 4170 in Cherlapally prison. He served jail term temporarily and came out on bail. But he will soon land in jail permanently in cash for vote case," Jeevan Reddy said.
Bhaskar Rao said Revanth Reddy had secured the TPCC chief post like the 'cash-for-vote' case with the help of TD chief N. Chandrababu Naidu and even Telangana senior Congress leaders were openly making these statements.
