TTV Dhinakaran calls on spiritual guru Mookupodi' siddhar
Chennai: On a day marked by intense political activity with the AIADMK led by Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami preparing the ground for merger with the faction under former Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam by challenging the authority of its deputy general secretary T.T.V. Dhinakaran, the
latter called on "mookupodi" siddhar in the temple town of Thiruvannamalai and sought his blessings.
Mr Dhinakaran who is known to maintain his poise even during hard times called on the mystic ahead of his statewide tour beginning on Aug. 14. He sat in meditation posture in front of the saint for some time before taking the blessings.
"I am visiting this saint for about 25 years and it is nothing new," Mr Dhinakaran later told reporters. He was accompanied by his supporters on Thursday.
The godman, who utters a few words, that too rarely, is believed to be an enlightened soul and his blessings, it is said, will induce progress. He is known for his affinity for mookupodi (snuff), which devotees offer him.
Tiruvannamalai is famous for the ancient temple of Sri Arunachaleswar.
Meanwhile, Mr Palaniswami, who has decided to bury the differences with Mr Panneerselvam, called on spiritualist Bangaru Adigalar at Melmaruvathur on Wednesday.
