K M Mani opportunistic, aims for NDA, says V M Sudheeran

Addressing reporters here on Sunday, he said Mr Mani had lost his confidence in people, and people of Kottayam also lost their faith in him.

KASARGOD: Former KPCC president V.M. Sudheeran has unleashed sharp criticism against Kerala Congress leader K.M. Mani for his affinity towards NDA. He accused him of making attempts to jump on the NDA bandwagon after the exit from UDF. Addressing reporters here on Sunday, he said Mr Mani had lost his confidence in people, and people of Kottayam also lost their faith in him.

“That is why he tried to send his son to Rajya Sabha,” he said. “There is no surety against him joining the BJP in the future. To rule out the fears of UDF workers, he should announce in public that he will not do that.” Mr Sudheeran said even after joining UDF, Mr Mani was saying that he would continue the equidistance policy.

“It is up to him to clear his stand,” he said. He said the loss of one MP for UPA in the Upper House would be a gain for BJP. “Entry of the Mani element in the scene created a situation where a Congress will lose one seat of its own,” he said. “Since his exit from UDF, he has been following an unstable political line, running after all political fronts.”
