THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: On the eve of Kerala Congress (Mani)’s steering committee meeting to be held at Kottayam, the rank and file of the party is expected to rally behind the UDF candidate, D. Vijayakumar. Mani is expected to announce the party’s decision on their support towards a particular candidate after the steering committee meeting on Friday at 2:30 pm.
A senior KC (M) leader told DC that Mani is not expected to announce his support towards any particular front on Friday when they are not attached to any of the political fronts at this juncture. “Majority of the KC (M) leaders and our voters in Chengannur are pro-UDF. They normally show their support towards a democratic candidate. There is always anti-incumbency factor and hence we will not vote in support of the LDF candidate”, said a senior KC (M) general secretary.
