Rahul Gandhi ill, reschedules Kerala visit

Rahul has been advised rest by the doctors.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, who is indisposed with fever, has rescheduled his Kerala trip and will tour the state on May 12 and 13. Earlier, he was supposed to arrive in Thiruvananthapuram airport on Tuesday night and kick off his campaign from Kayamkulam on May 11.

Rahul has been advised rest by the doctors. A letter threatening to blow him up was also received at the residence of former union minister V Narayanasamy in Puducherry. Rahul Gandhi said in his tweet: “My apologies to the ppl of Puducherry, Tamil Nadu & Kerala for missing this opportunity of being with them on 10th & 11th May as planned.”

There is no change in his programmes scheduled for May 12, but Wednesday’s schedule has been re-arranged for Friday. On Thursday, Rahul Gandhi will arrive at Pattambi in Palakkad district and address a public rally at 10 a.m. for Congress candidates of Thrithala, Shornur and Ottapalam.

He will arrive at Purameri, Vatakara in Kozhikode district, at 3 p.m. and campaign for Congress candidates of Vatakara, Nadapuram and Perambra (KC-M). He will also address a meeting at Uduma in Kasargod for Muslim League’s candidates in Kasargod, Kanhangad and Trikkaripur.
