Ramesh Chennithala seeks masala bond papers from CM

He wanted to see all files on the deal of the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB) with the Canadian funding agency CDPQ.

Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala on Wednesday shot off a letter to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan demanding the files of the masala bond deal made available. He wanted to see all files on the deal of the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB) with the Canadian funding agency CDPQ, offering an exorbitant annual yield of 9.723 per cent.

He alleged a conspiracy as right from day one KIIFB was trying to hide details of the bond and it deliberately concealed the fact that DCPQ had 20 per cent stake in the controversial SNC-Lavalin.

"Neither the cabinet nor the Legislative Assembly has been aware of the rate of return fixed," he said.
