Will decide after party picks me for Mandya: Ambareesh
Bengaluru: Actor and Congress MLA M.H. Ambareesh said he would take a call on contesting the polls after the party high command clears his name for the Mandya City Assembly seat.
Talking to reporters here, he said, “Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, KPCC President Dr G Parameshwar and AICC General Secretary and In-Charge of Karnataka K.C. Venugopal have spoken with me. First let them announce my name for Mandya City seat and then I will decide. You know there is no guarantee of a seat unless the B form is given to the district returning officer at the time of filing the nomination. The CM had said he will meet me while coming from Mysuru. But that did not happen as it was very late. Let me see what all they have discussed with the high command. First let them give me a ticket and then I will discuss it with Mr Sidddaramaiah and Mr Parameshwar. Nowadays, fighting elections is not so easy".
Asked whether he was seeking tickets for his close friends in other constituencies in Mandya district, Mr Ambarish in his typical style shot back “how can I ask for five tickets for my followers? There is lack of clarity for only three seats-Mandya City, KR Pet and Maddur as candidates for the rest of the seats are almost confirmed. Let me see what they discuss about my health and other issues.”
On rumours of former chief minister S.M. Krishna returning to the Congress, the 'Rebel Star' said Mr Krishna had already clarified that he would remain in the BJP. “I don't know who’s spreading such news.”
