Geeta Reddy hits out at TRS government for cooking budget data
Hyderabad: Telangana State Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairman J. Geeta Reddy has accused the TRS of running the state government in a mischievous manner.
Speaking to media persons on Tuesday, Ms Reddy said that TRS government has deliberately shown wrong figures in the state Budget.
In an attempt to show that gross state domestic production is doing exceedingly well, she said the government has changed the figures from one account to other and debts were shown as revenue.
The jugglery of figures “shows the state government’s failure and inefficiency, she said.
“If the same mistakes were done in a private firm, culprits would have been jailed by now,” she observed.
The former industries minister also said that thousands of crores of money were parked in PD accounts.
Congress MLA T. Jeevan Reddy has, meanwhile, accused the TRS government of throwing a surplus state into a debt-ridden state.
Though the TRS government has borrowed huge amounts of money, he said a half of money allocated for the welfare of SC, ST, BC and minorities was not spent.
“In the Rs 1.20 lakh crore budget, Rs 80,000 crore was allotted for the welfare and out of which Rs 40,000 crore was not spent,” he said.
Congress MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy on Tuesday demanded IT minister K.T. Rama Rao to tender apology to Congress MLA Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka for insulting him by violating protocol during his Khammam visit.
He said the minister has violated the Constitution by saying that the constituencies represented by Congress leaders should not be developed.
Mr Ponguleti also condemned Mr Rao’s remarks calling Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi as “fake Gandhis”.
He asked if he did not know this when his father and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao visited Sonia Gandhi along with family and touched her feet.
