BJP demands action against MLA Rajaiah

WARANGAL: Being elected by the people, an MLA must be a role model to others and must protect the people of his constituency. Instead, BRS party MLA Thatikonda Rajaiah is sexually harassing his party woman sarpanch, alleged the former minister and BJP leader G. Vijaya Ramarao.

Ramarao, along with BJP district unit president Rao Padma and other party leaders, called on the harassment victim sarpanch K. Navya at her residence in Janakipuram village of Dharmasagar mandal of Station Ghanpur constituency in Hanamkonda district on Saturday.

Ramarao said that in the past too, Rajaiah faced such allegations and went to jail for sexually harassing a woman. He appreciated sarpanch Navya, who belongs to Dalit community and poor background, for daringly exposing the wrong deeds of the MLA to the public.

Condemning the heinous act by the MLA, BJP district president Rao Padma asked why Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was giving party ticket to the accused again and again instead of taking action against him.

She said the Chief Minister was keen to protect his daughter MLC Kavitha from the alleged liquor scam. But he was turning blind eye to the women leaders of his own party who are being sexually harassed by his MLAs, she said, adding that the BJP would extend its full support to the BRS sarpanch until the action was taken against the Station Ghanpur MLA.
