AP Congress president urges probe by SC into land deals of TD govt

Suspecting conspiracy in the selection of place for the new capital Amaravati, N. Raghuveera Reddy demanded probe with Supreme Court judge.

Guntur: AP Congress Committee president N. Raghuveera Reddy on Thursday demanded probe by a Supreme Court judge on the allegations of land purchases by Telugu Desam in the Amaravati capital region.

Addressing a press meet at Guntur, he alleged that TD ministers, legislators and leaders purchased lands in the capital region villages for nominal prices with the leaked information about the place of new capital and further alleged that later the TD leaders largely benefitted with the announcement of new capital Amaravati.

Suspecting conspiracy in the selection of place for the new capital Amaravati, he demanded probe with Supreme Court judge.

Mr Raghuveera Reddy alleged that TD government totally failed to get funds from the Union government promised during bifurcation. He claimed that promised funds and projects are the rights of AP but the TD, despite enjoying ministries in the Central Cabinet, never tried to get those rights.

He alleged absence of 25 paisa loans to the farmers of AP and demanded to release a white paper on it. He termed the TD government presented AP Budget as nothing but magic of figures.
