YSRC Retorts to Lokesh over Why Jagan Campaign

VIJAYAWADA: The YSRC have reacted sharply to Telugu Desam national general-secretary Nara Lokesh’s comment on ruling party’s “Why AP Needs Jagan” campaign.

Lokesh had on social media X commented: “Why AP Needs Jagan? That's exactly what people of Andhra Pradesh are asking. Why does AP need Jagan when all he has managed to do is loot and destroy their state (AP)?”

In its riposte via an open letter, the YSRC has listed several points supporting its "Why AP Needs Jagan" campaign. It claimed it is presenting pure facts and data on progressive and welfare-oriented steps Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has taken, differentiating it from the previous N. Chandrababu Naidu regime.

The open letter of YSRC said, "Hello Mr. Nara Lokesh, thanks for giving us the right opportunity to tell people Why AP Needs Jagan! CM YS Jagan has fulfilled 98 per cent of his election promises given to people of AP, rather than just deleting the election manifesto from the party website like your dad. This is why AP Needs Jagan!”

Among the several points YSRC listed for Lokesh are:
“In 2019, when your father Chandrababu left as CM of Andhra Pradesh, the state ranked 22nd in India in terms of GSDP growth rate. AP ranks No. 1 in the country now. This is Why AP Needs Jagan! Any doubts Nara Lokesh?”

Per capita income-wise, Andhra Pradesh stood 17th in country in 2019. Today, under the leadership of Jagan, AP is among top 10 states in the country, ranking 9th. During five years of Telugu Desam government, the total number of government jobs provided was just 34,108. YS Jagan’s government to date has provided 4,93,000 government jobs out of which 2,13,662 are permanent. This is why AP Needs Jagan!
The open letter told the TD national general secretary: “Your father Chandrababu Naidu looted ₹6 lakh crore of hard-earned money of public. But CM Jagan distributed more than ₹3 lakh crore to people of AP through direct benefit transfer and non-DBT.

In 2019, agricultural sector growth, Andhra Pradesh ranked 27th, second last in the country. Today, AP ranks 6th in the country with a growth rate of 8.2 per cent.

As many as 10,778 Rythu Bharosa Kendras, 15,004 Sachivalayams and 10,000 YSR Health Clinics have been established across the state. Going a step forward, Jagan Anna government provided 31 lakh house pattas to poor and another 22 lakh houses are under construction. This is Why AP Needs Jagan, the open letter added
