Minister Appalaraju Calls Upon People to Fight \'Evil Quartet\' in AP

Tirupati: Minister Sidiri Appalaraju on Thursday called upon the people to fight against what he referred as the Telugu Desam-led 'evil quartet' in Andhra Pradesh. He asserted that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy's governance has opened doors for the marginalised sections and the poor to confront this perceived threat, emphasising that this opportunity should not be missed.

Addressing a public gathering during the YSR Congress’ (YSRC) Samajika Sadhikara Bus Yatra in Kavali, minister Appalaraju said social empowerment is about providing opportunities to the poor and marginalised groups, not accumulating wealth for the affluent. He stated that Jagan Mohan Reddy has brought genuine social empowerment through comprehensive development and welfare plans that aim to eradicate social inequalities.

Launching a scathing criticism of the previous TD regime, Appalaraju accused former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu of deliberately destroying government schools and hospitals, alleging a bias against the poor and marginalised communities. He further claimed that Janmabhoomi Committees were established by Naidu to subjugate the backward classes, SCs, and STs.

Kavali MLA Ramireddy Pratap Kumar Reddy stated that the YSRC government's welfare measures are not contingent on recommendations and are directed towards the financial well-being of SC, ST, BC, and minority populations. He praised the governance model implemented through initiatives like Navaratnalu, which includes Arogyasri for healthcare and fee reimbursement for the education of underprivileged children.

Highlighting the prospects of the Ramayapatnam Port near Kavali, Reddy expressed optimism about future development, drawing parallels with the growth seen in cities like Chennai and Kolkata. He anticipated a substantial boost to local businesses, reaching Rs 1,200 crore, and the creation of employment opportunities with the establishment of a fishing harbour.
