Hyderabad: A total Rs 68 lakh was seized by the Santoshnagar police on Friday evening. Police while they were conducting vehicle check ups at Lucky Hotel in Santoshnagar, they stopped a private vehicle and found Rs 68 lakh cash in it.
Santoshnagar inspector A. Bhojya said, “The money belongs to a cash management service. They usually collect money from the customers and deposit the same at the ATM and charge some percentage for transporting”
Meanwhile, TS Chief Electoral Officer Rajat Kumar said as of Friday Rs 64,35,66,025 cash has been seized along with 2,18,602 litres liquor worth Rs 5,16,21,152. Speaking to the media on Friday he said three incidents of poll-related violence during the campaign has been reported.
He said 4,462 applications were received from various political parties requesting permission to conduct meetings. The CEO said that a total 3,50,962 applications were received regarding voting rights and so far they have accepted 1,53,115 applications and 13,326 applications were rejected.
