HD Deve Gowda to Siddaramaiah: Don't you ever provoke me
Hassan: Lambasting CM Siddaramaiah for sarcastic remarks against him and his son and state JD (S) president H K Kumaraswamy on state’s development, former prime minister H D Deve Gowda cautioned his lieutenant-turned-foe not to provoke him.
Speaking to the media after inaugurating Valmiki Bhavan at Arasikere, Mr Gowda said as CM he laid the foundation for sectors such as information technology and biotechnology besides providing additional impetus for industrial growth. “Mr Siddaramaiah should be ashamed to comment in a sarcastic way about me despite all such development,” he said adding that he had refrained from speaking up against the Chief Minister or state BJP president B S Yeddyurappa so far.
A visibly upset Mr Gowda remarked “I am aware of how much you have strived for the state through announcement on Bhagyas (schemes), adding that he was aware of benefits extended to various seers by Mr Siddaramaiah. In response to the CM’s taunt about Mr Kumaraswamy’s “Vikasa Yatra”, Mr Gowda said the voluntary gathering at a rally addressed by the former chief minister in Tarikere, Chikkamagaluru district, mirrored the popularity enjoyed of his son. “Have people been paid to gather for Mr Kumaraswamy’s yatra?”, he asked.
