N Chandrababu Naidu hopes TD will get 80 per cent of votes in polls
Visakhapatnam: AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is hopeful that his Telugu Desam would get 80 per cent votes in the next elections as about 80 per cent of the people were satisfied by the improvement in the delivery of public services that was made possible by integrating new technologies.
He was speaking about how the AP government was resolving grievances related to disbursement of pension or rations using technology. He was citing data from the state’s ‘Happiness Index’.
“We can send million of messages to the mobile phones of beneficiaries and get their feedback. We are running a call centre where people can register their complaints. Giving a quick response to the complaints, we ask explanations from the authorities concerned,” Mr Naidu said.
He said people do not need to run from pillar to post to get their benefits or problems redresed. “People are happy with the services provided by government which means their vote (to the TD) is a certainty.”
He highlighted the efforts being taken up through CM Dashboard to provide real-time information to the public. “About 60 per cent of the people are dependent on agriculture. We are trying our best to provide real-time information about soil moisture to farmers. We will tie up with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to resolve such issues,” Mr Naidu said. He said the Gates Foundation had innovated new technology with the help of the drones, which could resolve many agricultural issues. “We will discuss the issue when he visits the state next month,” Mr Naidu said, confirming that the Microsoft founder would be visiting the state.
