Kotla Suryaprakash condemns arrest of Chandrababu

Kurnool: Former union minister and senior Telugu Desam leader Kotla Suryaprakash Reddy said TD chief N. Chandrababu Naidu's arrest is unlawful. “Police have yielded to pressure from ruling party leaders and arrested him,” he maintained, speaking to media at the party office in Kurnool city.

He pointed out that Kadapa MP Avinash Reddy is also facing criminal cases but has not been arrested.

Telugu Desam leaders protested outside the party office in Kurnool wearing black badges. Party state general secretary Somisetty Venkateswarlu called upon BJP-led government at the centre to intervene into the dire situation in Andhra Pradesh and protect people from harassment by YSRC.

TD Kurnool parliament segment in-charge and MLC B.T. Naidu alleged that Jagan Mohan Reddy has imposed emergency in AP. He said section 409 of the Indian Penal Code has been misused to deny bail to Naidu. Party leaders staged a protest near the national highway at Kallur.

A Telugu Desam supporter climbed a cell tower near Chennamma Circle in Kallur mandal protesting against the arrest of Chandrababu Naidu. He warned that if the TD chief is not released, he would jump from the cell tower. Police, however, managed to convince him to come down safely from the tower.
