TRS corporators demand suspension of former mayor from party

KARIMNAGAR: Corporators from Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) demanded the suspension of former mayor Ravinder Singh and his relative Sohan Singh from the party alleging that they were maligning the image of the TRS and BC welfare minister Gangula Kamalakar. They wrote to party president and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao in this regard.

In an audio clip, Sohan Singh, husband of corporator Kamaljit Kour, while demanding municipal officials to construct new drains and lay roads in the 49 division, alleged that the minister was not being supportive. The clip has gone viral on social media drawing criticism from TRS corporators, who charged that Ravinder Singh and his relatives had ulterior motives in their outbursts. They want to grab the attention of people by raking up issues like damaged roads and drains in colonies.

Kamalakar was in the forefront of developmental works under Karimnagar municipal corporation limits, they said. Unable to digest the enormous developments that were taking place in Karimnagar, Ravinder Singh has been creating hurdles, they added.
