Three capitals for Andhra Pradesh state inevitable: Kodali Nani
Former minister and Gudivada MLA Kodali Sri Venkateswara Rao alias Nani declared that YSR Congress government is committed to its resolve of having three capitals – executive capital in Visakhapatnam, judicial capital at Kurnool and legislative capital in Amaravati.
Nani went on to disclose that the ruling party will table the refurbished bill for three capitals in the State Legislative Assembly before elections are announced as scheduled in 2024.
Addressing media here on Friday, he maintained that Jagan Mohan Reddy government is committed to decentralisation of governance for overall development of the state. He explained that Vizag will fetch much-needed revenue as an executive capital of the state.
The former minister accused opposition Telugu Desam of misleading people with its sole capital stand. He reiterated that the state will develop only with decentralisation, in other words, by having three capitals at three different places in the state.
Nani declared that ₹10,000 crore will be spent on Visakhapatnam to transform it into an executive capital. He displayed graphic pictures and said it is practically impossible to develop Amaravati as the capital city.
The former minister faulted Naidu’s claim of developing Hyderabad. Slamming Chandrababu and Lokesh for dragging the name of CM’s family members into Delhi liquor scam, he said people of the state are observant of everything. They will teach a befitting lesson to the father-son duo in 2024 elections.
