2 more schemes under Skill India, says Ananth Kumar Hegde
Bengaluru: Union minister of state for skill development and entrepreneurship Ananth Kumar Hegde said on Saturday that his ministry plans to introduce two more new schemes soon.
Replying to felicitations at office of the state unit of BJP, he stressed the need to nurture medicinal plants as part of skill development programme. “Skill India concept is not about creation of direct jobs, but help explore new opportunities and job avenues for youth in rural areas and ensure that they remain rooted to their jobs. Jobs will not fall from the heaven, we have to create new avenues for exploring opportunities. While chairing the first meeting with ministry officials in New Delhi, I told them I don't want technological terminology, because common people cannot understand technology. To improve the skills of his or her village based industries, common people need innovative ideas and opportunities, and the skill development industry will provide an platform to the same,” he said.
Mr. Hegde said that few people were making allegations against him. “People don’t know about the culture, religion and nationality, they are making baseless allegations against me by selling words (newspaper) for money.
“According to them I am accused, Yes, I am an accused to safeguard my land and national flag, I will not answer their allegations against me,” he said.
This newly appointed minister also assured BJP workers that he would not act in such a way that it would bring disrepute to the entire ministry. Besides, he thanked the voters of Uttara Kannada Lok Sabha constituency for electing him.
