Adivasi Congress Chief Slams Telangana CM for Broken Promises; Demands Action

Hyderabad: Adivasi Congress chairman Dr Bellaiah Nayak criticised Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, stating that all the promises he made during the Telangana agitation have turned out to be false. The pledges of support to the tribals have proven to be mere empty words, he pointed out.

Dr Nayak visited the Jama Thanda, located 5 km away from the Nellikuduru Mandal headquarters in Mahbubabad district, where Chandrashekar Rao had stayed on April 7, 2008. He stated, "We came here as part of our AICC campaign to assess the government's actions over the years. The house he slept in has now collapsed. The villagers lack proper drinking water facilities, and Mission Bhagiratha hasn't benefited them."

The hamlet residents have not secured jobs, the promised double-bedroom houses, and the local school remains closed. Additionally, there is a lack of proper roads in the village. Dr Nayak further mentioned that anyone who questions the authorities faces legal cases. He criticised the act of hosting Chandrashekar Rao in the village and providing him a lavish meal, as it hasn't led to any tangible benefits for the villagers.

Dr Nayak urged the Chief Minister to take immediate action and construct houses for the residents. According to him, the people are claiming that leaders are demanding Rs 30,000 to facilitate the approval of houses under the Gruha Lakshmi scheme.
