CS gets Telangana High Court notice on state land for TRS

Hyderabad: Dealing with a PIL challenging the allotment of land to political parties at the district headquarters towns, especially to the TRS, at throwaway prices, the Telangana High Court on Friday issued notices to the Chief Secretary, the Chief Commissioner of Land Administration and principal secretary, revenue.

A Division bench of Chief Justice Raghavendra Singh Chauhan and Justice Sham-eem Akther also issued notices to registered political parties such as the BSP, BJP, CPI, CPM, Congress, MIM, TRS, TD and YSRC, who are respondents in the petition. All of them were directed to file their counters in four weeks.

The petition was filed by Mr Medipally Satyam of Karimn-agar district, who challenged the one-acre land alloted to the TRS in 24 district headquarters. Mr Tera Rajnikanth Reddy, counsel for the petitioner, said the government had alloted the land without following procedure.
