Hyderabad: MIM president Asaduddin Owaisi said he was ready to contest against any candidate in the 2019 elections. “What will you do? All of you unite with (BJP president) Amit Shah and come. I ready for the contest,” he said at a public meeting, adding that “some persons” were repeatedly talking about the elections.
“If you are with me then I will certainly win,” he said. On Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar joining hands with the NDA, Mr Owaisi said that both Mr Kumar and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav had cheated the Muslims in Bihar.
“Minorities will prosper only when they are empowered with political power. We are ready for a meeting only if sincere plans are there to improve the socio-economic condition of Muslims,” he said.
About the developmental works being taken in Old City, he said 11,000 LED lights had been installed and a lakh more would be installed soon. Restoration works of the Mahbub Chowk clock tower and the Murgi Chowk would be taken up, he said.
