Bengaluru: The Sangh Parivar having different outfits for different tasks, is not something new. Last week, an organization called BSY Brigade suddenly surfaced and on Monday, it was followed by Sangolli Rayanna Brigade (SRB) which has the blessings of Opposition leader in the Legislative Council, K.S. Eshwarappa.
Both brigades have no official status in the party hierarchy. The BSY Brigade has a Facebook page and even issued a press statement last week warning Mr Eshwarappa not to issue any statement or work against Mr Yeddyurappa. However the statement bears no signature, nor does the FB page prove that it has the backing of any individual leader.
The SRB has the blessings of Mr Eshwarappa, something he himself had confirmed. Though its activity is yet to hit the public domain, it is perceived to be a platform to boost Mr Eshwarappa’s popularity.
A senior leader in the party, not associated with either group, felt they would be suicidal and would harm the party’s interests more than supplement it.
